A remix i did after hearing the track on MTV while at the gym about 7 years ago. i loved it so bought it, took it home. slowed it down and edited it with new drums (which i whipped from dave taylor – he knows btw) and made it into a “circus rework” which was massive at the club for some time.
its took me 4 or 5 hrs to get the track tight to the drums manually and make the groove work
i sent it to Pete Tong who made it “essential new tune” a few days later. It was big miami track and was set to pop but it was never allowed to be cleared for official sale/release due to an internal complication ian brown was dealing with at the time

This mix put the shine on an otherwise cloudy workday. No, it’s not all sunshine, rainbows, and bubblegum. This mix is intelligent. Deeper. The vibe is trippy, sometimes spilling into melancholy… but the songs, the programming, and the flow had me crawling out of my shell and boppin’ out in my chair the entire time! Great spectrum of sounds and perfect execution. I’ve come to expect quality when my music player hits Factor X, and this mix didn’t disappoint! The Digital Dancefloor gives this one a strong 5/5!

Happy Valentines Day! Yes, I’m in love with this new mix. Not sure where I came across this guy, but I’m glad I did! Maybe it’s fate… I think I’m destined to find the good music this week. Amazing set here, great variety, deep and ambient with a driving undercurrent. ‘Straight Up’ is the perfect blend of house, tech, melody, and beats. I’m looking forward to diggin’ out the next project from CMYK for the House Heads Anonymous listeners! 5/5
